What We Record About Your Child — All Of It
The complete child-data list, including practice data and designed improvement signals.
What We Record About Your Child — All Of It
Most apps make you dig through a privacy policy to guess what they collect about your child. We'd rather just show you. This page is the complete list — if it's not here, we don't collect it.
Who your child is, to us
A first name or nickname you chose, an age band or school year, a cartoon avatar, and a play code (a random credential like a library card number). That's the whole identity. No surname, no birthday, no email, no photos, no location, no school name.
What we record while they play
Practice data — the product doing its job:
- Which questions were asked and answered, right or wrong, and how quickly
- Rounds and sessions played, when, and in which mode
- Streaks, badges, and rewards earned
- Which facts our practice engine plans to serve next, and why
Practice milestones are also counted as simple product events:
profile_activated— a child profile completed its first saved roundpractice_round_completed— a practice round finished, with mode and score totalsstreak_milestone— a streak badge milestone was earnedsprint_day_completed— a 21-day sprint practice day reached its target
This is what powers progress reports, the 21-day sprint checkpoints, and the coaching for grown-ups. It's also the evidence behind our money-back guarantee — we show you the same numbers we see.
Improvement signals — how we find our own mistakes:
struggle_tap_noninteractive— taps on things that aren't buttons (tells us a screen is confusing)struggle_rapid_repeat_tap— rapid repeated tapping on the same known control (tells us something feels stuck or frustrating)struggle_slow_first_input— a long pause before the first answer or setup choice (tells us instructions aren't clear)round_abandoned— rounds abandoned partway, and where (tells us something went wrong)dead_end_navigation— back-and-forth movement between the same two known screens (tells us a route is confusing)settings_flail— several settings toggled and reverted in one visit (tells us settings copy or controls need work)tap_position— where taps land, as percentages, on four known child screens only (tells us if buttons are hard to reach — especially on small hands and small phones)
These signals are pseudonymous, we discard the network address they arrive from, we only ever look at them in aggregate ("12% of children on phones miss the ×4 button"), and we delete them after 12 months.
What we never do on children's screens
- No advertising. Ever. No ads, no ad trackers, no retargeting.
- No third-party analytics scripts. Children's screens never talk to analytics companies.
- No session recording or screen capture. Nobody watches recordings of your child playing.
- No selling or sharing data. Not for money, not for "partnerships," not at all.
- No free-text collection. The game never asks your child to type anything about themselves.
- No behavioural profiling beyond learning progress — we model times tables, not children.
The AI Coach — only if you turn it on
If you enable the AI Coach, your child's practice data is processed by our AI provider on our servers to write reports for you. It happens only after your explicit consent, our AI providers can't train on it, and the outputs are checked against child-safety rules before anyone sees them.
Your controls
Delete a profile and its data (Settings → profiles), export your data, or ask us anything at SUPPORT_EMAIL. When you delete, it's deleted from our systems within 30 days.
This page is kept in sync with our code. When we add or change any signal, this list changes the same day — that's a promise we can keep because the list is generated from the same place the app reads.
